The hermitage of San Antonio Abad, popularly known as 'San Antón', is located in the homonymous neighborhood, which celebrates its festivities in January.
The hermitage of San Antón was built on the Camino Real de Castilla, outside the city walls. It is close to other interesting buildings such as the Monastery and Church of the Augustinian Nuns, the Church of San Andrés and the Church of Nuestro Padre Jesús, home of the Salzillo Museum .
Throughout history it has been the object of several recognitions. Felipe V, at the proposal of Cardinal Belluga, grants him the title of Royal House and grants him the Golden Fleece as a sign of royal protection.
Inside there is an image of Francisco Salzillo, that of the 'Saint Anchorite', which was delivered by the famous Murcian sculptor to the Brotherhood of San Antón on April 25, 1746.
On January 16, the feast of San Fulgencio, patron of the Diocese, is celebrated, whose image is also worshiped in the hermitage of San Antón.
