Digital Christian Resources from the NRB

The February/March issue of the National Religious Broadcasters Magazine includes a Church Media section with three recommended articles.

Ok, so two of these articles were originally posted here before they ended up in the publication.  Antoine did a great job on his article. I would have written more succinctly, but chances are, Mean Dean was making me laugh.

The article, Global Church Missions Resource Online, originally appeared here last summer and highlights an innovative website called Mission:Equip.  I've gotta credit Frank Johnson of Strategic Digital Outreach, for tipping me off about this online, one-stop Missions Toolkit.  Frank, is co-founder of this site and I think it really brings world missions into the age of web-based digital services.  More and more missions organizations are utilizing online resources and this is a great example of what's available globally, just a click away.

A couple of other great articles appear in the issue as well, including one by Cory Miller (Church Communications Pro / iThemes) summarizing some early data on blogging Christians.  Cory and I have talked at length - ok, I talk, he listens - about who, besides Pew, is collecting the data on faith-based internet usage.  The article reprints the survey (non-scientific) results of the 2007 Christian Bloggers Survey compiled by Rick Warren's Ministry Toolbox.

And lastly, an insightful article by media guru Phil Cooke (The Change Revolution/Cooke Pictures) who notes how the recent Hollywood writer's strike revealed the shift from traditional media to digital media.

The magazine is a special issue to be distributed at the National Convention in Nashville this week and although I was sent a handful of "traditional" copies, it will also be available electronically.
