The ancient practice of devotional reading & journaling has gone electronic. The newly launched web app, Examen.me, is an online devotional tool designed by worship pastor, Brent Minter. It allows you to “examen” your life as you meditate on scripture, pray, and journal all of your reflections.
What are your thoughts about electronically-mediated interactions with God. Can the internet help us bring focus and depth to our personal interactions with God. Especially if you use YouVersion, please weigh in.

Had a great number of thoughts a little while back here:

Great stuff. i like it.
I love it! I’ve used it a couple times now and it’s been great. I admit I was kind of sceptical at first, but I found myself feeling thankful that it exsists, and I’ve since recommeded it to others.
Just discovered Examen.me today – and used it for my prayer time this morning. It’s not something I could use every day for my devotions, but it can be a good part of a diverse approach to knowing and discovering God!
Cynthia, you bring up a great question, and it will be interesting to see history answers it. However, I think the interwebs can be used as a tool in a persons personal discipleship. It won’t be the answer for everyone, but it will be for a lot.
So far the response to EXAMEN.me has been incredible, and we are only expecting it to grow!
I agree with Brian. At first I was skeptical about the whole online devotional thing, but the Word of God is living and active regardless of if it is in written form or on a computer screen. I have loved Examen and the online tools and easy accessibility the internet gives you to various dictionaries and commentaries as I’m studying and rewriting scripture. As Tami said, I don’t know that I will be online everyday during my personal devotional time, but Examen is a great tool that I will use often to help foster growth in my relationship with my heavenly Father.
Examen. Examine. Interesting.
I’ve used Daily Encouragement to start many of my days. It’s not quite so high-tech; just a couple out of Pennsylvania who put their heart and soul into preparing a daily reading with prayer and audio supports.
Great. Combine it with an Intercessory Prayer Journal of some sort and it would be perfect. Works for me.
I like examen.me – like others I don’t use it everyday but there are times when God takes me there. The internet is a powerful tool. For instance – today if I had not gone to examen.me – I would not had seen this post and would not had seen the link to Daily Encouragement! Thanks Paul from Canada! My daughter walked away from the Lord several years ago and today – God brought me to this place so that I would have hope of her returning. So – when God calls me to the internet – I will obey!
I love this! Used it for the first time today. I hope to introduce it to our entire church.
