Need a 10 minute project to benefit you for the rest of your 2010?  How about simplifying your life by ordering a digital business card?

If you’re all over the web like so many of us, why not make things easier for people looking for you online?

Go green & paperless by ordering a digital business card and use it as  your personal landing page for everything.

Simple, super affordable, smart.

It only takes about 10 minutes to order your card from ‘the man’, Sam Druegger and if you do it now, you can relax for the rest of the weekend and enjoy your New Year’s start having made such a smart investment.

Go figure, someone else pulling that off now ;)

Now, don’t forget to add a custom URL (a .name or .me domain), and a social graph to all those areas that you don’t mind showing others that you are connected to online, and the idea of a digital business card gets some more legs. You might also want to add a QR code which encodes that information (hopefully in hCard/vCard format) and wraps it in a manner that people can just point a mobile camera at the computer screen and download that info into their mobiles easily.

Expand that into being something like OpenID and it gets even more exciting (or fear-laden depending on your persuasion).

*These are just a few things that I do with mine, but I’m one of those weird cases.

I got mine at http://justinwise.me … Although Sam is truly “the man,” mine was a combo of Saddington’s theme and coding inquisitiveness.

    Looks great!

I was just going to say John Saddington developed a wp theme for this same thing. It looks great! Justin your site link is broken. Might want to fix that.

John – I was just about to comment & provide the link you provided here. Thanks (ps – of course your comment went into my akismet! – oh the irony! – you will make my plugins behave).

To all: Here’s the reason I’ve recommended Sam – He’s available!
I mean now, as in today. The guy’s getting married in February so I encourage readers to contact him this week so he can set you up.

Antione, Justin & Brian – thanks for stopping by.

    Absolutely!!

Saddington’s smashing wp-theme is what I used for Cynthia’s DBC, his core code is sweet and easy to tinker with and customize! As always, John is the man, and we’re just riding his coattails!! For Cynthia’s DBC, I customized some CSS and core code, so that she could display all the relevant information to suite her needs. It was a fun project.

If your web savvy — go download Human Error’s theme and install it to your wordpress powered site, if you need some help let me know… I can spin up a DBC, with your custom URL (that I can purchase and host for you), and have you up and running in no time.

    Thx Cynthia!

Thank you all for your input and creative inspiration. I have combo-plattered these thoughts into my DBC here: http://www.winnjr.com.

Buddy, I like what you’ve done. I really like the CV icon.

This is just a personal opinion but I’d flip the photo above the fold if it were mine…. and here’s why. Social network icons are candy for those who are networked. But for me many of the pastors & Christian leaders I work with are not web-savvy (which is why they’re searching for me online in the first place – so they can get an overview education & some support). I want them to find me, without feeling overwhelmed with contact choices – basically just a photo & contact info for simplicity’s sake.

Thanks very much for sharing your work.
