Ed Young gets his rap on…..
By referencing a handful of well known US pastors in this You Tube video rap experiment, Fellowship Church’s Senior Pastor, Ed Young takes ‘using video clips for ministry purposes’ in an unexpected direction.
Ed names Joel Osteen, Rick Warren, Bill Hybels, Craig Groeschel, John Piper, Andy Stanley, Louie Giglio, TD Jakes, Rob Bell, Dino Rizzo and others, uses simple editing technology & builds a rhyme to distribute his message – U. B. U.
Thoughts?

Oxymoronic?
I’m sure many loved seeing this at C3 (if that’s where it aired).
Not my cup of tea, though. Sorry.
Oh, and don’t I understand. And the controversies continue.
isn’t this the CEO whose paycheck was recently exposed to exceed 98% of his “flock?”
Brings to mind words like megalomania and narcissism. A mutual admiration society for religious egos.
Suggested reading: “The New Shape of World Christianity: How American Experience Reflects Global Faith.” The West’s little corner of global Christendom (7%) is looking increasingly pathetic.
Ed is all caught up in trying to be relevant instead of getting serious about God’s word. He has modalist TD Jakes, prosperity preacher Jentezen Franklin, Joel Osteen, Rob Bell and social gospel preacher Bill Hybels- thanking (some of) them for their horrible teaching and then lumps in John Piper and Alister Begg as if he agrees with all of them? Discernment is lacking in that camp.
John & Danny: thanks for the suggested reading links & observations.
Uh…who needs to LIGHTEN up on this page? Gees folks – relax and have a laugh at the video.
Must we ALWAYS argue about who teaches the right way? Or which pastor makes more than most of his congregation?
what’s to laugh about? This isn’t funny in the least. I’m not offended by it all, just don’t see the humor in it.
Jesse – thanks for weighing in.
I loved the video because I thought it reflected the ability to laugh at ourselves.
Obviously, the timing is awkward with the current media blitz on Fellowship.
I’ve never been more embarrased for someone in my life!
Didn’t think it was funny/relevant and production was poor. And agree Cynthia, really strange timing.
I love Ed, he has changed my life. Thanks for sharing the video made me smile for the day.
Thanks! logged in to hear what the Spirit is saying to the churches. timely. and a good rhyme!
To each his own. I have never heard of Ed Young until 30 min ago, but of course, have heard of all his ‘tags’, and like many of them. My pastor has a real problem with Ed, as do I, after seeing the dust-up over the plane, millions of wasted $’s, etc. Does a pastor have to be poor? No. Does he have to be Christ-like? To preach Christianity, he has to at least try. Ed is clearly exceedingly charasmatic, drawing great crowds and mucho $’s into his coffers. Great.
The Lord can work through anyone to reach the lost. I am not promoting the constant back-biting in Christianity, but many big-$ churches can’t seem to get past the temptation to become just another vehicle toward fame & fortune. That’s the message overpowering salvation, service & evangelism.
A new generation of pastors is utilizing video to spread their message, very cool are some! Oh, then there’s the book deal, speaking circuit, cd’s, and a road to millions of $. I pray God uses them to unite Christians and not to destroy, which many of them will, as is predicted.
This video is bad. The comment about Young naming all these famous pastors as peers does look like an effort to be in their peer group.
Nothing wrong with being silly or having a sense of humor! I have a large, goofy sense of humor, but I can also recognize a poser when I see one.
