Exciting news to report from the YouVersion Team. (thanks @tonysteward)

They’ve just launched 20+ Bible reading plans across their website and their mobile applications.

Although there have been lists and plans out there for while, this is the first time they’ve integrated them into a free Bible platform that offers so many different translations/languages and is on over 3 million mobile devices.

With New Year’s just a day or so away many people are looking to make new commitments and resolutions. Reading the Bible daily is the single best habit a person can establish. I’ve been reading the Bible on my phone for 3 years now and love it.

YouVersion Reading Plan Details:

20+ plans are available online and on your mobile device, so you can keep up with your reading no matter where you are.

You can customize each plan to match your schedule by making it shorter or longer.

Easily track where you are by checking off each day’s reading. We’ll also show you how far along you are with a percentage of completion.

Your online and mobile accounts will synchronize your information, including your plan and your progress.

Soon, you’ll be able to build a support system by opting in for accountability emails to you and/or a friend.

If you already read the Bible on your phone or use the You Version app, can you encourage others here?

Churchsmo has a great recyle idea for supporting Pastors in Africa. Best idea I’ve seen in a while. They’ll take your old iPod, wipe it clean, re-load it with scriptures and donate it to the pastors in Africa. Using technology to serve those on the other side of the digital divide (like one laptop per [...]

Churchsmo has a great recyle idea for supporting Pastors in Africa. Best idea I’ve seen in a while. They’ll take your old iPod, wipe it clean, re-load it with scriptures and donate it to the pastors in Africa. Using technology to serve those on the other side of the digital divide (like one laptop per child) is a brilliant idea.

This is the beginning of this new ministry whose goal it is to utilize millions of unused iPods to make disciples and carry the Gospel to all nations. The concept is simple. You donate your iPod, they pack it with solid biblical teaching and send it to an African Pastor.

Now, if they would also add YouVersion, it would basically be the perfect iPod.

Step#1. Send Them Your iPod

iPods4Africa
5702 Timber Ridge Dr
Prospect KY, 40059

Step #2. Your iPod will be Wiped & Loaded with Awesome Biblical Teaching

Step #3. Your iPod will be Sent to an African Pastor

Its that simple! Pretty great idea, huh? Any other ideas for using technology to support faith-based ministry endevours across the digital divide?
