They’ve just launched 20+ Bible reading plans across their website and their mobile applications.

Although there have been lists and plans out there for while, this is the first time they’ve integrated them into a free Bible platform that offers so many different translations/languages and is on over 3 million mobile devices.

With New Year’s just a day or so away many people are looking to make new commitments and resolutions.  Reading the Bible daily is the single best habit a person can establish.  I’ve been reading the Bible on my phone for 3 years now and love it.

YouVersion Reading Plan Details:

• 20+ plans are available online and on your mobile device, so you can keep up with your reading no matter where you are.
• You can customize each plan to match your schedule by making it shorter or longer.
• Easily track where you are by checking off each day’s reading. We’ll also show you how far along you are with a percentage of completion.
• Your online and mobile accounts will synchronize your information, including your plan and your progress.
• Soon, you’ll be able to build a support system by opting in for accountability emails to you and/or a friend.

Looks like our tech-savvy friends at YouVersion.com have hit a home run with the release of YouVersion for the iPhone.  Having an interactive online Bible in your hand seems almost hard to believe – only the LifeChurch.tv digerati team, headed up by Terry Storch, have made YouVersion.com a reality.  And just in time for the Apple 3G iPhone release.

At the time of this writing it was number 35 in popularity, beating out hundreds of other free apps in the new app store!  In the brief minutes it's taken me to post this, I've already downloaded it. You can too, free.

Now you can have the scriptures with you anywhere plus your journal notes, photos and other uploads to your Bible cache.  And – no more turning our phones off in church.

Finally have time to blog my great experience from the Dynamic Church Conference in Dallas recently.  I loved meeting all the Fellowship Technologies staff and was impressed by their mission and strategy to serve churches.  A couple of highlights include hearing the breakout sessions by Terry Storch, Digerati Pastor at LifeChurch.tv and Joe Suh, founder of MyChurch.org. 

Terry spoke on the future of LifeChurch's bleeding edge ministry to the next generation amongst other things which I could hardly wrap my head around. He breezed through pioneer works like internet campuses, metaverse church, YouVersion and OnePrayer and then got into his real passion "what if…"  Absolute inspiration to those of us who envision tomorrow's Church.

And Joe Suh gave an excellent overview of all things social media related.  It was particularly helpful to see the evolution of social media sites and view how rapidly they are establishing new expressions of community.

And lastly, we got to hear a closing session by Randy Draper whose resources can be found at HeartSpring Media.  Randy is a member of Ed Young's Fellowship Church and is both an excellent story-teller and a passionate communicator.
