Halloween is only a few weeks away, but Bank of America scared many customers in early October on Friday.
The financial giant was all the rage on Twitter on Friday as users turned to the platform to complain that Bank of America BAC,
the app was down – and the first of a new month, when rent, utilities, and other bills are often due.
“Anyone else having trouble with the Bank of America app?” The irony of that shit on the morning of the 1st, ” tweeted a user, sharing the consensus of other Bank of America customers who have difficulty accessing their accounts through the app.
“Trust Bank of America for being down on my paycheck”, another said.
Additionally, many customers were also unable to log into their accounts on the Bank America website. “Some customers may not be able to access online banking at this time,” the Bank of America website said. “Your accounts remain secure. We are actively working to make our site again accessible to all of our customers as soon as possible. “
Downdector.com, which tracks reports of technology issues and outages from various services in real time, began seeing an increase in complaints from Bank of America on Friday around 10 a.m. ET. More than 12,000 reports had been made by 11:15 a.m. Friday, according to DownDetector. But the complaints slowed down after noon ET.

A Bank of America spokesperson confirmed to MarketWatch via email that he knew some customers were experiencing “slowness” when trying to access their account information, but at 12:30 p.m. ET, the problems techniques have subsided for most customers. The bank added that customers’ personal and account information remains safe and secure.
