Gun website escapes wrongful death trial over shooting

By Mike Curley (Nov 9, 2021, 9:07 p.m. EST) – A federal judge in Wisconsin on Tuesday dismissed allegations that Armslist LLC’s negligence led an ex-husband to murder his wife, claiming that the website’s conduct The gun list was too far removed from the shooting to be considered its cause.

United States District Judge William C. Griesbach dismissed for default of claim in Richard Webber’s lawsuit against Armslist and its creator, Jonathan Gibbon, for the death of his sister, Sara J. Schmidt. The judge wrote that Schmidt’s husband’s premeditated decision to shoot him, before taking his own life, is a successor case blocking Armslist from all liability.
