The Paschim Maharashtra Devasthan Samiti (PMDC) and the Kolhapur Municipal Corporation (KMC) are working on the development of the application.
Currently, the faithful are forced to drive from one parking lot to another to find a suitable parking lot for their vehicles. And most of the time, they end up parking their vehicles alongside the road, causing traffic jams.
PMDS Secretary Shivraj Naikwade said: “The development of an intelligent system is part of the development plan of the Mahalaxmi Temple. In the system, our priority will be to make it easier for the faithful to reserve parking spaces and let them know about the diversions of the traffic, the place from which the darshan queues will start, especially during the Navratra festival. .
The devotees, who have no knowledge of the city and the roads, end up walking long distances to reach the temple. Seniors are not allowed to enter the temple at this time due to Covid restrictions, but not having a parking space near the temple causes them enormous inconvenience.
Therefore, the relevant authorities are studying applications developed by other temple administrations in India to develop an application for Kolhapur. Various features such as map with directions, time and distance and payment system will be integrated into the mobile application.
