Massachusetts State Lottery winners will now be able to cash in from the comfort of their own homes with a new app.
âThe introduction of mobile cashout is a tremendous advancement for the lottery as we adapt to new technological trends that have reshaped this industry,â said State Treasurer Deborah B. Goldberg, President of the Massachusetts State Lottery Commission. âIt not only adapts to our customers, but has the added benefit of having positive environmental impacts by eliminating unnecessary driving and producing paper checks. “
Winners will be able to use the app to claim prizes ranging from $ 601 to $ 5,000 which will be transferred electronically directly to their bank accounts.
The Lottery successfully processed its first mobile ticket cash transaction in May and over 930 prize claims have already been processed through the app. This resulted in deposits of over $ 1.1 million in prizes to lottery winners.
âWe are delighted to provide this convenience to our customers, especially those who live more than an hour and a half from the nearest complaints center,â said Michael Sweeney, Executive Director of Mass. Lottery. âAs the customer adoption rate increases, the long-term cumulative benefits of this feature have the potential to be enormous. “
The Mass Lottery app is available for Android and iOS devices.
