Aspen Flight Academy Welcome Event Saturday

The nonprofit Aspen Flight Academy will host a community event on Saturday to showcase the latest aviation industry training and other activities.

The ‘To Infinity and Beyond’ event will give people the opportunity to experience the latest technology and flight training, as well as food, live music, airplane displays, airplane tours and shows. conversations with industry representatives and students at Aspen Flight Academy.

The event will take place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Atlantic Aviation’s FBO hangar (69 Airport Road), which is located north of Aspen Airport. The event is free and open to the public, but donations are accepted.

Founded in 2014, Aspen Flight Academy offers a flight training school in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado to give students the opportunity to become certified pilots. Since 2019, they have partnered with Aspen School District for the innovative ‘Every Student Flies’ program, which gives every student the opportunity to experience a flight and learn about careers in aviation. .

Updated website to help local businesses and individuals navigate health insurance

The Valley Health Alliance website has been updated to provide resources for businesses purchasing health insurance for their employees and individuals purchasing their own health insurance, the organization said Thursday.

The site is designed to help people get the information and connections they need to explore the options that matter to them. The market for individual health insurance opens Monday, and companies typically buy plans for employees at the end of the year.

“We’ve been working hard to make changes that make it easier to access health care, whether it’s purchasing insurance or finding the right primary care practice for you,” said Chris McDowell, executive director of Valley Health Alliance, in the press release.

The Valley Health Alliance is a local, non-profit collaboration of employers and healthcare providers working to improve healthcare outcomes and reduce costs from Aspen to Parachute.
