New website “to celebrate what makes Salisbury special”

A NEW website dedicated to the promotion and celebration of Salisbury has been launched.

‘Experience Salisbury’ showcases the best of the city’s history, heritage, art and culture.

He says residents and visitors alike will find “inspiration, from world-class attractions to delicious dining experiences and unique independent boutiques.”

The website is jointly funded by a new partnership between Salisbury BID, Salisbury City Council, Salisbury Cathedral, Salisbury Hospital and Wiltshire Creative.

This new partnership was born in the aftermath of the events of Novichok in 2018, when the challenges presented forged a new spirit of collaboration in the city that continued throughout the Covid-19 pandemic and in a renewed approach to promotion of the city, including the development of the Experience Salisbury website.

The partnership was also the driving force behind “Salisbury’s fresh and distinctive new brand identity, which has been adopted at the Experience Salisbury site”.

It was in 2019, after extensive consultation, that the new ‘Traditional Original’ brand was developed for the city to highlight Salisbury’s unique combination of old and new.

It will be visible on a number of new initiatives that will be unveiled over the summer months, as well as raising the profile of the city going forward.

Salisbury businesses are encouraged to get involved with the new website and may be listed in the directory for free, or may pay for an enhanced listing.

“Salisbury is a fantastic place to live, work and play”

As a result of Salisbury BID (Business Improvement District) investment in the project, all BID direct debit payers received an enhanced business listing for free on the Experience Salisbury website.

Robin McGowan, Managing Director of Salisbury BID, said: “The BID believes that this is an indispensable collaborative platform to help support and promote businesses during this period of recovery. That’s why we not only helped fund the Experience Salisbury website, but we also led the project on behalf of companies and partners.

“We are continuing our work to create a thriving city and I encourage any business that is not already listed on the website to get involved and take advantage of this promotional opportunity. ”

Cllr Caroline Corbin, Mayor of Salisbury, said: “Salisbury is a fantastic place to live, work and play. There is so much to see and do in the city. we are one step ahead and Experience Salisbury will allow us to better promote events and showcase everything the city has to offer in one place. ”
