Pune Metro launches mobile app for ticket booking and inquiries

Pune Metro has launched a mobile app to help people easily book tickets and provide information about metro services.

The app called “Pune Metro” can be used by both iOS and Android users and user registration is required to access it, said Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation Ltd (Maha-Metro), which implements the Pune metro project.

“The Pune Metro app has many useful features such as ticket booking, fare inquiry, food services etc. A person can book one way, return or group tickets for more than 10 people,” he added.

Using the app, commuters can generate a digital QR-code ticket that can be scanned at station gates. The mobile app allows commuters to make payments through all types of payment options like UPI, credit/debit card, netbanking and digital wallets like Paytm, Freecharge, PhonePe, etc.

Commuters can also view active tickets as well as tickets from previous trips using the app.

In the fare request section, the fare table for both lanes is shown. The minimum fare is Rs 10 and the maximum is Rs 20 from now on for both lanes. Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) in Sant Tukaram Nagar and Bhosari costs Rs 10 while PCMC in Kasarwadi and Phugewadi costs Rs. 20.

Similarly, the cost of a journey from Vanaz to Anand Nagar and Ideal Colony is Rs 10 while that from Vanaz to Nalstop and Garware College is Rs 20. The fare for return tickets between terminal stations is maintained at Rs 30.
