“The Commission reopened its website from July 1 (Thursday) at the request of the candidates,” said UPHESC secretary Vandana Tripathi. âCandidates can now register online July 1-7 as well as the online registration fee for the recruiting exam. The deadline for final submission of the form has been set for July 8. Applicants who wish to make corrections to the application forms submitted earlier could also do so until July 8, âshe added.
The opportunity was given as before due to Covid-19 and server issues, many applicants were unable to complete the application process on time.
The UPHESC secretariat clarified that after this opportunity, the committee would not consider any applications or requests regarding online errors and candidate problems with regard to this recruitment exam.
Previously, the deadline for submitting fees and applications for this recruitment exam was April 12 and April 13, respectively. About a lakh of candidates requested it at the time.
On May 30, a delegation of aspirants submitted a memorandum to UPHESC officials asking for a weighting of candidates who have obtained their doctorate. They said that the UGC made doctorates compulsory for appointments of assistant professors in universities as of July 1, 2021 and that many universities and state and central commissions gave weighting to doctorate holders in the selection process.
As the UPHESC was still accepting applications for this recruitment process, the PhD weighting should be extended to eligible applicants, they said.
