The Verticale is looking for a Summer ’21 Marketing and Social Media Intern in New York, NY


What you will do:

This role will support the execution of marketing activities across all channels to The Vertical, including: email newsletters, social media (Instagram + Tik Tok), website homepage and editorial blog. This role will work directly with our Marketing Coordinator to ensure that all campaigns and partnerships (taste makers, influencers and notables) are executed in a timely manner across all channels. Additionally, this person will create marketing assets that communicate our story, as well as the stories of our brand partners, in a compelling way.

Responsibilities:

  • Email Marketing – Create email newsletter elements by composing a copy, selecting images and placing them in our existing layout templates.
  • Site Home Page – Create home page resources based on editorial calendar, update featured collections, write copy, and select images.
  • Instagram – Create resources for Instagram feed and stories. Engage with the audience by responding to comments and DMs throughout the day, interact with like-minded accounts. Daily management of the platform, including: link in bio tool, highlights, guides and repost.
  • Social Media – Management of additional social media channels, which currently include Facebook and may expand in the coming months.
  • Influencer Marketing – Coordinate the implementation of influencer marketing materials across all channels, working continuously with internal and external partners.
  • Editorial Articles – Collect and organize freelance writer resources, add images if needed, pass them on to an internal team member for site upload.

What we are looking for:

  • Extremely organized with attention to detail
  • Strong writing skills
  • Ability to narrate and creatively embody The Vertical tone and voice
  • Strong design skills with visual resources, creative writing (ideally light video editing skills)

Diplomas & skills:

  • 1-2 years of relevant experience or internship roles
  • Programs: Canva, Adobe Creative Suite

Type of employment:

  • Part-time internship (15-20 hours / week)
  • Credit or paid internship
  • Location: NYC / Remote
