This new Covid-19 travel website tells you everything you need to know about travel right now

If you’re a little confused as to where in the world you can travel right now, you’ve got plenty of company. As international travel comes to life –Europe is set to reopen to tourists next month, for example – an ever-changing barrage of government recommendations and national restrictions makes the idea of planning a long-awaited vacation a daunting prospect at best.

Enter www.canitravel.net—A comprehensive, user-friendly guide to Covid-19 travel restrictions around the world – to the rescue. The concept is simple: on the home page, simply enter your nationality / residence, your country of departure, your destination and your vaccination status in the search bar, and voila, your proposed destination appears, coded with one of the three traffic lights (green: open; orange: open with restrictions and red: closed) and accompanied by a wealth of useful information, including applicable travel advisories, local COVID-19 statistics, travel restrictions internal, etc. All data sources are also included.

Canitravel.net is the brainchild of three Italian entrepreneurs – Filippo Galli, Fred Balzi and Giorgio Motti – who conceived the idea in March 2020. Childhood friends of the Adriatic coastal city of Riccione and longtime globetrotters who have left home years ago to explore the world, they were living abroad in Sri Lanka, Thailand and Vietnam (respectively) when the pandemic started. Frustrated with canceled flights and disrupted travel plans, they figured that a website that served as a reliable guide to travel restrictions during the Covid-19 era would benefit their friends and family, as well as to countless hodophiles like them. The site was launched last May, attracting hundreds of thousands of visitors since then; the co-founders plan to launch travel advisory services in the coming weeks.

Below is the latest list of countries open to vaccinated travelers from May 10 on canitravel.net, as well as other countries that will open soon (the site also includes all relevant information on the destination of unvaccinated travelers) .
