Ulster County Sheriff’s Office launches free mobile app for public use – Daily Freeman

KINGSTON, NY – In an effort to “better serve the community with important alerts, news and resources,” the Ulster County Sheriff’s Office has launched a free mobile app for public use.

In a press release, Sheriff Juan Figueroa said the app is available for free download from the iPhone app stores and Google Play by searching for Ulster County Sheriff’s Office.

Citizens can use the app for opioid substance abuse referrals and explore the Sheriff’s Office’s Anti-Violence Effort Response Team (AVERT) program, which can connect individuals with educational assistance, training employment, mental health services and job placement assistance, according to the statement.

App users will be able to submit anonymous tips through the app, search a county database of incarcerated individuals, receive victim notifications, status change notifications, and information regarding bail, visitation, communication and auditor accounts.

Additionally, the app will allow users to request additional information from the sheriff’s office using a state Freedom of Information (FOIA) application.
